Thought useful to put up bit of background as have put up a couple of posts

had it a few years but diagnosed this time last year, gradual process which forced me to give up alot of what i'd been doing (too much social stuff, country stuff, half marathons and triathlons) led me to several trips to gp with advice to rest, sure that's a common theme which nras are working to resolve hooray, eventually forced the issue and had bloods etc

had a year of metho and plaquenil since with bouts of steroids and still playing the game terms of finding a good workable mix like it seems everybody else is also doing!

reason for coming here was to fill a gap ihave, now have great gp in chelt and great consultant in london but nothing in between as left nhs chelt, it really was terrible.

I'm not going to mistake a rheumi team for a very cool bulletin board but it is helping to fill the gap in knowledge and to get common responses, the one common theme everyone talks about is their 'team'

I'm fine and working and in thirties and happy, ra is just another challenge right, i like nras as it put's a real positive spin and feel on what would otherwise, and has been an awful old road.

Thanks to everyone and all replies

Hi Neil,

Nice to hear a bit more about you.

I agree with you ... this forum is a lifesaver when you're feeling down or have a niggling question. Hope you find all the answers you need and that awful path is less daunting!

thankyou for sharing that Neil! I am 34 now (almost a grown up!Blink )- I think that sometimes, it is the personal experience and understanding you need almost as much as the medical treatment, which is why this forum is so good!

Look forward to seeing lots more posts.

Hi again Neil

No one understands Ra like another sufferer! It's a bum disease but you just have to get on with it!

I'm 66 and probably the oldest on the forum - know as "Granny" by some cheeky so and so's.

Glad you've joined. but sorry you have RA.
Love

I liked that post, very positive!

Welcome to you! I've had RA since I was nearly 9 but that didn't stop me doing all the things I've done...it was just a real annoyance at times!

Hi Neil,

Welcome to the forum!
Sorry you have got RA so young but it doesn't seem to be holding you back.
Even those who have a good rheumy team say it's good to talk with others who have it, so keep posting and you'll get lots of support and information.
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Neil

Welcome! Sorry to hear that you have RA but glad that you are able to continue living life to the full with a few adaptations along the way! A positive outlook is always the best way forward (well I think so!).

Look forward to reading your posts,
